Your first steps in migrating to Australia is to find out if you are eligible to settle Australia. This can be completed by making contact with your nearest Australia High Commission, the immigration staff here are able to help and provide relevant information regarding the application process.

Migration AgentsUsing a Migration Agent may improve your chances of approval and in many cases may also shorten the application process, more informaiton on Migration Agents can be found on this site in the Migration Section.

Each and every application varies in it's requirements and complexity, a minimum of 12 months should be considered for a successful application to be processed. It is absolutely essential that any information or docmentation submitted to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship is done so correctly or your application will be returned to you, and unfortunately, you will have to re apply.

Fees will also vary dramatically depending upon the visa category you are applying under and any adiditional complexities involved. Police checks, medical reports, government fees and any other required information will increase these costs and can be quite expensive at the end of the day, especially if you have to re-apply.

A list of World-Wide Australian Embassies, high commissions, consulates, multilateral missions and representative offices can be found on the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade website.
